The scoop from Washington

Obama does/does not support lifting Teamster consent decree. Clinton team hits Obama contradictions.

INDIANAPOLIS, IND.--A Monday front page story in the Monday Wall Street Journal says that Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill.) assured the Teamsters he would back lifting the federal consent decree nailed on the union because Teamster corruption. During an ABC News interview Monday morning Obama said he was not making a flat pledge. The Clinton spokesmen seized on this contradiction--or at least one until the Obama campaign clears this up--during a cell-battery draining conference call that lasted more than an hour.

While "reasonable people" can disagree on the merits of lifting the decree, said Clinton spokesman Phil Singer, "one has to wonder what Sen. Obama’s position really is.."

"...We look forward to what sen o has to say about this matter….It is also quite curious that (Obama) has taken the position that he is for lifting the consent decree but has not bothered to tell the voters," Singer said.

their batteries? Your batteries? Hope everybody gets recharged!
Seriously--am wondering what took an hour about this?

What is this? Daily attack # 450? Let's see, 15 months times avg. 30 days per month. Yup. And yet, Senator Barack Obama LEADS!!!!!!!! Obama is my president.

Please....he's made deals all over the place to get these endorsements.

How else would a one-term Senator with 1.5 years in the senate before he started running for president get these endorsements from these big unions and big-shot dems?

Question is....what else has he promised?

We have young people showing us tremendous courage each and everyday in Iraq and around the world. They are leading by example but we are not following. It’s now time for us here at home to also show some courage. We cry for change in our government but run away when it gets near. Some man or women says BOO and we run right back to where we were. Our forefathers put in place safe guards to prevent one person from bringing down our country. Others however are trying to frighten us for their own interest, NOT the countries.
Franklin D. Roosevelt said : “So, first of all, let me assert my firm belief that the only thing we have to fear is fear itself nameless, unreasoning, unjustified terror which paralyzes needed efforts to convert retreat into advance. In every dark hour of our national life, a leadership of frankness and of vigor has met with that understanding and support of the people themselves which is essential to victory. And I am convinced that you will again give that support to leadership in these critical days.” If you want change grab it now.

This is another last minute political pandering by the Hillary camp. to make Obama look bad... When will Hillary Clinton and Howard Wolfson stop lying. All they do is lie, lie and lie again, so long as they get the vote. This is simply disgusting and a disgrace to democracy. It's pathetic...

Obama's answer is pretty clear...In the interview before the endorsement he had said "Well look, this, under the president now with his leadership, I think the union has been transformed," Obama said. "I think that's the assessment, generally, and the problem is you have an administration that hasn't been particularly friendly to the union spirit and this union in particular. And I think that if you've got somebody in the White House that you know and you trust and you've got history with, then you are going to see a change in terms of how we evaluate these consent decrees. Now obviously, there is a legal aspect to it. It's got to run through the paces to make sure all the t's are crossed and the i's are dotted. So, I don't want to talk as if I snap my fingers and it suddenly happens, but as president with the authority to appoint an attorney general who actually understands the law..."

He does too, they have him on tape saying once he is in the white house that he will hook them up, this will be the big news of the coming week, Obama annihilates his own platform with deal with Teamsters.. He took the high ground and said no old politics and special intersts... Well guess what he is quoted doing, promising the Teamsters special treatment once hes in the White House.. this is a travesty and Obama should be booted from the nomination..
