SCRIPT: It’s 3 a.m. and your children are safe and asleep. But there’s a phone ringing in the White House. Something’s happening in the world. When that call gets answered, shouldn’t the president be the one – the only one – who had judgment and courage to oppose the Iraq war from the start… Who understood the REAL threat to America was al-Qaeda, in Afghanistan, not Iraq. Who led the effort to secure loose nuclear weapons around the globe… In a dangerous world, it’s judgment that matters. I’m Barack Obama and I approved this message.

Both campaigns obviously have more money than should be allowed. This tit for tat display today is PRECISELY why we need public financed campaigns like we were promised in the seventies. Guess those hippies were right about something, huh? Unfortunately, the only FALSE note is in the Obama retort. Dimes to donuts he would have been compelled to vote for the Bushites' B.S. war--the country was NUTS then. He may have opposed the war, but he did not vote to stop it anymore than you or I did because---he was not in any position to be asked to do so. To say other is mere conjecture. I would hope he would have voted against it, felt secure enough in his position to survive another election and journey forward against the tide. But the fact is, we don't KNOW how he would have voted had he been in that position. Attacking Hilary Clinton like this merely makes it all the more likely that we will all watch Senator McCain be sworn in next January. Wake me when it's over.
The claim that Obama would have been "compelled" to authorize the war would make more sense if there hadn't been brave Senators like Durbin and Wellstone who took a stand against it. Not everyone fell under the spell of the war drums like HRC.

He made a speech. So what? Action does speak louder than words, and he didn't have to vote regarding the war. I wish he would stop relying on his speech as proof that he is knowledgeable about foreign affairs.
It was completely wrong in the first place for HNC to claim she had divine talents to defend children, just like she felt that she had divine rights to Win and be President, Barack Obama has clearly pointed out his policy rather than just the scare mongering of Hilary.
