Vice President Dick Cheney will touch down in the area for just under two hours today for a fund-raiser to benefit the Republican National Committee in Lake Forest.
Cheney will fly in and out of Waukegan Regional Airport and then head to the Lake Forest home of William Strong, a vice chairman of Morgan Stanley, the Wall Street financial services firm.
Strong is a member of the elite fund-raising network that solicited money for the Bush/Cheney 2004 re-election campaign.
Strong was a "Bush Ranger,'' meaning he raised at least $200,000 from other donors for the ticket.
About 40 major contributors are expected at the late afternoon Lake Forest event.
