On behalf of the Sunset Media Group., I have covered events in that Southwest corridor and periodically encountered John Whiteside. Even though there is not much to speak about in Joliet, John was an excellent journalist. However, my colleagues feel the same as I that a more prominent name should have been considered for the facility other than John. Evidently, politics plays a role everywhere and Joliet has more politics than one would imagine.
