FYI: Blagojevich to skip Sunday White House State Dinner

When White Sox manager Ozzie Guillen decided not to attend a White House ceremony honoring the 2005 World Series champs, it was, well, noticed.

In that spirit, I pass along the information that Gov. Blagojevich is also saying no to a White House invite.

UPDATE: I just watched...CNN just ran the comedy ambush interview clip with Blagojevich..done for the Jon Stewart show....very amusing....

Blagojevich will not fly to Washington to attend the National Governors Association annual winter meeting running this weekend.

That means he will also be missing a Sunday night State Dinner for the nation’s governors hosted by the White House.

Blagojevich spokesman Cheryle Jackson told me in an e-mail that the governor is skipping the NGA session because ``he's focused on passing his budget in what will likely be a very short legislative session. However, the governor is sending to the meeting his policy chief, Sheila Nix who will be there beginning Sunday for the Midwest Governor's meeting.’’
