Congrats to Monica! Remembering her living across the street in her early years, if she wasn't dribbling a basketball, she was throwing a softball. I could be mistaken but I think her dad, Tony, played at Von Steuben. Reaching that milestone against her dad's old school had to be a great moment for both despite the loss. I know her Junior Hawk teammates (many of whom play at Maine South) are very proud of her great career at Trinity.
Tony went to CPS but not Von Steuben. He went to Steinmetz and was a great point guard for them. His team made it to the City Semi-finals in 1978.
Monica's dad, Tony, did go to a CPS, however it was Steinmetz and he was a great point guard for them. They made it to the City Semi-finals in 1978 (his Junior year); then he went to IIT (Div. II) on a full athletic scholarship, where he played basketball and was also a relief pitcher. He graduated 3rd in his Architecture class.
