So, I'm sitting with my 8-year-old son watching the Celtics-Heat game last night, and he begins asking questions that an 8 year old is wont to ask: "Can the game end in a tie?"
Now, mind you, I'm all for the Socratic method, but not during a crucial juncture of the game when I'm hanging on Jeff Van Gundy's every word. I wanted to tell my son, "wait 'til a Doris Burke sideline report to ask nonsensical questions."
But, I didn't.
I calmly explained to him that soccer and some football and hockey games can end in a tie, but not basketball. Not ever.
Well, I guess I was wrong. How will I ever explain this to him?
Rest assured, she won't be replacing one of these guys in the upcoming "Anchorman" movie.
