Former NBA player Samaki Walker allegedly tried to eat marijuana after being pulled over in his 2002 Mercedes-Benz on Thursday, according to a report from the Las Vegas Review-Journal.

Ten grams of marijuana, prescription drugs and eight bottles of liquid steroids were recovered from Walker's vehicle, officials said.

Walker, who still plays professionally in Syria, said he uses the steroids to improve his athletic performance.

The former Louisville star was selected by the Dallas Mavericks with the ninth overall pick in the 1996 NBA draft and spent 10 years in the league.

He was booked on drug charges and has an Aug. 5 court date.
