A bizarre moment in the Purdue-Illinois game last night reminded us all of the importance of double-checking stuff, crossing T's and dotting I's.
It seems whomever on the Boilermakers' staff charged with writing John Hart's name in the official scoresheet dropped the ball.
So, when Hart made his first bucket of the game, Purdue was slapped with a technical foul, much to the dismay of a flummoxed Matt Painter.
Hart and Purdue would get the last laugh, however, in the form of an 84-78 victory. The redshirt freshman erupted for 14 points in 18 minutes after coming in averaging a shade over a point a game. That's the kind of production that not even the scorekeeper remembers.
