The Oakland Athletics have lost prospect Grant Desme.

Not to another team, but to priesthood.

The 2009 Arizona Fall League MVP has announced he's retiring from baseball to lead a life more pious.

The outfielder is considered one of the best in the A's organization. He hit .288 with 31 homers, 89 RBIs and 40 stolen bases last season with Kane County and Stockton.
