New York Jets PUNTER Steve Weatherford is sick and not playing

When you get to the playoffs in the NFL, it's generally assumed that every player on the roster is going to play through anything they can play through.

After all, it's win or go home. There's no tomorrow. It's time to put up or shut up.

All those cliches.

That's what makes New York Jets punter Steve Weatherford's absence so puzzling.

Weatherford is out of today's game against the Cincinnati Bengals with an illness, and Jets placekicker Jay Feely has assumed the punting duties.

Gregg Rosenthal of Pro Football Talk reports that Weatherford was seen running on the sidelines in sweatpants.

Despite being questionable with a hamstring injury last week, Weatherford played in last week's regular season game against the Bengals.

It will be interesting to find out exactly what's going on with all this.
