Barack Obama rooting for New Orleans Saints in Super Bowl?

Thumbnail image for USA NFL OBAMA.jpgThe New Orleans Saints appear to have a very powerful ally in their corner as they prepare for their Super Bowl match-up with the Indianapolis Colts.

President Barack Obama tipped his rooting hand yesterday in an interview with ABC News' Diane Sawyer.

"You know, I think both teams are terrific," he said. "I guess I am rooting a little bit for the Saints as the underdog, partly just because when I think about what's happened in New Orleans over the last several years and how much that team means to them. You know, I'm pretty sympathetic."
Not sure if this endorsement is good or bad for the Saints, but with two weeks of time to kill before the big game, we'll take any story line we can get here in Medialand.

Um who cares.

Well, since Obama's going for the Saints, I guess they're gonna LOSE now - seeing that everyone he backs up ends up LOSING!
i.e. - Chicago Olympics, Martha Coakley (or was it Marsha, Mr. President?)

Good thing I was going for the COLTS anyhow!!!

hahahahahahahaha

The Saints are screwed!

Powerful ally? If it's like anyone else he has recently backed, the Saint's are doomed.

I think that a lot of people are pulling for the Saints due to their respect for the city and the perserverance of their fans. And for all you Obama haters, he is just trying to clean up the mess from the previous administrations mishandling. It is like he was left with the devestation of Katrina but only given a broom to clean the mess up.

Keep pushing that "Blame Bush" talking point Von M... It is doing wonders to wake the public up to how little Obama is accomplishing.

Colts had this locked already. Obama supporting the Saints just makes it that much more secure. Go Colts!

Touch of the Anti-Midas

Please....stay away from EVERYTHING we care about. EVERYTHING you touch turns to.............

PS - Please see Olympics, Health Care, Integrity, Global Warming....you are slowly becoming a caricature of yourself!

GO SAINTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Here in New Orleans we are so proud of you

GO SAINTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Here in New Orleans we are so proud of you

This might explain why the NFL referees made numerous bad calls trying to give the Saints a Super Bowl berth!! (The Vikings beat themselves despite the obvious preference of the referees) Big government football too?? This is only the first year for Obama and his plan to destroy everything we love about America, lets hope we can slow him down the next 3 years!!!

Isn't that a Steelers Jersey?

Just as I had hoped... the gods favor the Indianapolis Colts!!!! The Obama touch (the OPPOSITE of the Midas touch) is now on the Saints. Too bad for New Orleans and Drew Brees.

Wow..now the Saints won because of help from the referees?? But Favre gets hit cleanly after throwing the ball and it's a personal foul?? There were bad calls on btoh ends, but only one team came out on top. We here in New Orleans know our team is destined for this game, for a Superbowl ring. We don't care what anyone else thinks! Black and Gold Superbowl Champs, just wait!

Haha! Obama will jinx them! Just like he did when he backed the Steelers last year! Oh wait... FFFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUU

PRESIDENT OBAMA DID NOT PICK THE FOOTBALL TEAM THAT I AM ROOTING FOR THEREFOER HE IS A FAILURE AS A PRESIDENT AND A SOCIALEST! GO SCOTT BROWN WITH YOUR TRUCK

That's just great, now my Saints are going to go the way of the Chicago Olympics

Not to look like a fool, but why did they post a picture of Obama holding a Steelers jersey to say that he is officially endorsing the Saints?

I wish these teabaggers were a lil more educated.

SAINTS ALL DA WAY BABY! GOOD GAME "colts" BUT NOT GoOD ENOUGH! 31 TO 17.. && EXCUSE ME, WHO DAT SAID DEY GONE BEAT DEM SAINTS? ESPECIALLY NOT DA "Colts" haha. SAINTS WON!! WHO DAT!!
Mood: Saints Fan. ♥
