Thumbnail image for larry-johnson-vs-oakland.jpgThe Kansas City Chiefs have released embattled running back Larry Johnson, according to multiple reports.

ESPN's Adam Schefter says Johnson will now go to waivers.

Johnson returned from a one-game suspension today, one imposed after he called out Chiefs coach Todd Haley and making several homophobic comments.

Disgruntled KC fans had gone so far as to circulate an online petition to keep Johnson from surpassing Priest Holmes as the team's all-time rushing leader.

It looks like they got their wish.

I have been a KC Chiefs fan for many, many years going back to the Wolfpack days. Today I live in the Pacific Northwest and my car, travel trailer and clothes still reflect my love for the Chiefs. Thank you, thank you, management for getting rid of Larry Johnson - a blight on our player pride. He should have been let go long before now. His remarks against Dick Vermeil should have been the catalyst...but, as the saying goes, better late than never!

YOUR ATTITUDE WILL DETERMINE YOUR ALTITUDE, THE LEAGUE IS SET UP NOW THAT IF YOU OPEN YOUR MOUTH AND DISAGREE WITH YOUR COACH OR A TEAMMATE, AND YOU USE SOCIAL NETWORKING SITES TO DISPLAY YOUR FEELINGS YOU WILL BE OUT OF WORK, THIS IS A REMINDER FOR ALL THAT WANT TO PLAY IN THE NFL, BE A GOOD CITIZEN OR YOU WILL HAVE TO GET A REAL JOB!
