Dog Day at U.S. Cellular Field: Photos, questions

white-sox-dogs.jpgMy cohort Kevin and I were in attendance at U.S. Cellular for the White Sox' 7-4 win over the Minnesota Twins last night and are still buzzing about how hard Jermaine Dye hit his fourth-inning grand slam.

The real action though was before the game when around 600 dogs and their owners invaded the playing field as part of Dog Day festivities. After strolling all over the same field that Alexei Ramirez plays on, the dogs and their proud human companions got to enjoy the game from the stands.

Since people love the White Sox and seem to love canines, here's a comprehensive photo gallery of the bark-filled night at the ballpark.

For you dog lovers out there, can you explain to me why bringing your pet to the game is better than leaving him or her at home? I realize this is probably a stupid question, but it seems like a whole lot of trouble to keep Fido pacified in the bleachers as thousands of people are lustily yelling.

Anyway, we'd love to hear from you if you were at Wednesday night's game with your dog or you had a dog-related experience.
