The real action though was before the game when around 600 dogs and their owners invaded the playing field as part of Dog Day festivities. After strolling all over the same field that Alexei Ramirez plays on, the dogs and their proud human companions got to enjoy the game from the stands.

For you dog lovers out there, can you explain to me why bringing your pet to the game is better than leaving him or her at home? I realize this is probably a stupid question, but it seems like a whole lot of trouble to keep Fido pacified in the bleachers as thousands of people are lustily yelling.
