Usain Bolt tried marijuana, doesn't smoke anymore

usain-bolt-marijuana.jpgSprinting and being-first enthusiast Usain Bolt talked about his past with marijuana during a recent interview with Bild newspaper.

"In Jamaica, you learn as a child how to roll a joint. Everyone here has tried it. I did too -- but I was real young then," Bolt was quoted as saying. "My family and my friends don't smoke and I don't hang out any longer with people who smoke."
Bolt made the admission while drinking a Guinness mixed with Red Bull, which sounds like something a bartender would refuse to make you.

Report: Bolt tried weed as a kid     (CNNSI)

This guy shouldn't apologize for smoking pot. 100 million americans have tried pot and 25 million americans have smoked pot in the last year. When are we going to stop crucifying drug users? Marijuana should be legal.Don't laugh, a group of 20,000 very serious policemen, prosecutors attorneys and citizens have formed a group to legalize ALL drugs, Law Enforcement Against Prohibition (http://leap.cc ) They see what happened when we legalized alcohol in 1932 as a good example of how drug legalization would work. We can't stop drugs. They're sick of chasing drug users and sending innocent people to prison for decades just because they like to get high. This foolish war on drugs has lasted 37 years and cost us over a TRILLION dollars and we are not an inch closer to stopping drugs. How many millions of Americans are we going to lock up in prison for decades? Legalize ALL drugs now. Mark Montgomery boboberg@nyc.rr.com

wow, a Jamaican sprinter tried marijuana...and in other news the sky is blue.

how is this news?

babylonian baldhead drinks man-made KILLER alcohol but doesnt consume a NATURAL God-given plant??!!!!

I agree, Anonymous. Our prohibition on the production and sale of marijuana to adults was *directly* responsible for the brutal murders of more than 6,000 people last year. More people are dying as we speak.

We *don't* have a moral right to inflict this kind of brutality on any people! And we can't hide behind the excuse that we didn't personally pull the trigger.

We know the damage we're inflicting through our prohibition of marijuana so we are *equally* responsible for the damage it's causing.

If we believe that we are good people then we need to demand legalization of the production and sale of marijuana to adults! That is the only penance appropriate for our years of silence.

does this really surpise anyone? the man is from Jamaica I completely agree with Dan.. Jamaicans are illustrated in movies and everything else as either using or loving marijuana. I wouldn't be surpised if he still uses it now, I'm sure about 3/4 of the NBA does.
