Timing is everything: New Orleans Saints release Mike Karney day before his wedding

The good news for Mike Karney is that he's getting married today. The bad news is that he no longer plays for the New Orleans Saints.

The 27-year-old fullback got the news on the way to his rehearsal dinner Thursday night. And judging from this quote, it doesn't seem like he's going to let it affect his special day:
"I've been in the league five years and they let me go now, so I get a chance to sign somewhere else," Karney said in a phone conversation with The Associated Press while he was on his way to the rehearsal dinner. "The guy they're bringing in, they think he can do a better job and that's their prerogative. That's their deal and I respect that."

Being a Saints Fan and still laughing as Karney destroyed the Blowboys on that Monday Night game, its make me sick that they would crap can him on the day before his wedding...business is business, but have some morals....maybe Mr. Mary Poppins needs a new umbrella to dance with on the sidelines...losing 44 and 26 will bite us Saints fans on the arse......
