His son Jerry Rice Jr. will hope to enjoy the same meteoric rise when he walks on to Rick Neuheisel's UCLA squad in the fall. The five-foot-ten, 180-pound wideout has decided to join the Bruins squad after only Air Force offered him a scholarship.
No word yet on the youngster's dancing prowess."The scouting report on Rice is similar to his fathers -- not blazing fast, but runs nice routes and has good hands. At the same point in the elder Rice's career he was just a solid receiver in Mississippi that wasn't good enough to get a major offer as well, so this could work out fairly well for all the parties involved.
