Jerry Rice's high school efforts were only impressive enough to land him a spot at non-powerhouse Mississippi Valley State University, but he ended up retiring from professional football recognized as the best wide receiver in history.His son Jerry Rice Jr. will hope to enjoy the same meteoric rise when he walks on to Rick Neuheisel's UCLA squad in the fall. The five-foot-ten, 180-pound wideout has decided to join the Bruins squad after only Air Force offered him a scholarship.
No word yet on the youngster's dancing prowess."The scouting report on Rice is similar to his fathers -- not blazing fast, but runs nice routes and has good hands. At the same point in the elder Rice's career he was just a solid receiver in Mississippi that wasn't good enough to get a major offer as well, so this could work out fairly well for all the parties involved.
