One of the great parts about the ever-so-addictive "Lost" is that in the wake of every episode are a multitude of unanswered questions.
Last night we saw Ben tell Jack he needed to go visit and "old friend" to "tie up a loose end" and then returned looking like he'd just gone 12 rounds with Mike Tyson.
So, was he going to go kill Penny? Kill someone else? Let's have those theories.

Obvious humor: I think he got beat up.
Topical humor: Perhaps he was mauled by a chimp.
Off-color humor: Maybe he tried to break up with Chris Brown.
it could only be Penny but since Penny is with Desmond and Desmond was not on the plane, it is logical to assume that he went to kill Penny but Desmond was there to stop him and nearly killed Ben. Ben somehow got away and we will learn what happened to him and the other party in the next couple of episodes.
