Playboy has announced the 30 finalists for the 2009 Sexiest Sportscaster Award.
In news that will likely surprise no one, Erin Andrews is the reigning champion.
In the past, we've asked you, the news makers and consumers of the world, to leave Ms. Andrews alone. If we're to discuss her prowess, let's focus on the fact that she's good at what she does, rather than the fact that Playboy has reminded us that she looks better than any other female in the country when she does her job.
For instance, we'd like to offer our endorsement and support of Charissa Thompson of Fox Sports Net and the Big 10 Network (not to mention a friend of a friend of the blog, which makes her like family).
It seems that debating, comparing and contrasting the aesthetic virtue of female sportscasters, a long standing tradition, is only gaining in popularity. Judging by the amount of comments at the aptly named Sidelinehotties.com, dudes have no problem making clear their preference for aesthetically pleasing women when it comes to getting those nuggets of news from the trenches that simply cannot be surmised from the cozy comfort of a broadcast booth.
It's not an American thing, though. The international sports fan is also subject to the draw of the attractive sideline reporter.
FanIQ reminds us that across the Atlantic Ocean, there's a sexy sportscaster named Charlotte Jackson who's known as England's Erin Andrews.
I don't know ... you tell me:
We strongly encourage you to tell us who you are voting for and why, as well as making your vote really count at Playboy's site.
