Get an intimate look at West Town's art scene with the fourth installment of Sketch Thursdays, a night of live art-making open to public participation, from 6 to 8 p.m. January 14 at Continental Lounge, 2801 W. Chicago.

Sip cocktails while watching local, emerging artists create art throughout the night. All works will be for sale at the end of the event.

Want to do some sketching yourself? Anyone is welcome to bring their pens, pencils, paper or paint and get creative. Reserve your spot by contacting Matthew Westfallen at (312) 850-9390 or Matthew@westtownchamber.org.

Also, check out Sketch Thursdays at www.facebook.com/sketchthursdays.

Temperatures may be dropping, but sales are heating up at Wildflowers Lingerie, 1407 N. Wells.

Owner Gretchen Reachmark has just launched a "Hot Sales for Cold Nights" sale, available both online and at the boutique. However, sale prices are not updated online. If you see something you like on the site, give Reachmark a call at (312) 654-0482 to see if it's marked down.

And if you want to bring along a guy for some, um, male input, Reachmark has a leather "man chair" located directly next to the fitting room for optimum viewing. Beer not provided.

Known for both style and practicality, all Frye boots are twenty percent off at Asinamli, 1722 Sherman in Evanston.

Sale runs from now until Thursday, December 17. Enjoy! (I'm loving the pair on the left. What about you?)

Avoid the painfully long mall lines and head over to children's boutique Twinkle Twinkle Little One, 3224 N. Damen, for Santa photos between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. Saturday, December 12.

The shop's also offering a 10 percent discount on all non-sale items.
Holiday treats will be served.

When you're holiday shopping for loved ones (and NOT shopping for yourself), it might be a little dangerous to step into accessories boutique à pied, 2037 W. Roscoe. You may end up shopping the store's unique scarves, jewelry, slippers, gloves, shoes, and boots for your own wardrobe. But if you can focus, here are events that could help you save money on friends or family who love stylish accessories:

SATURDAY, DECEMBER 5 (5 to 9 p.m.): As part of Roscoe Village's Winterfest Weekend, à pied will host live music, wine, a Dove chocolate tasting and 15 percent off the entire store. Stop by à pied's sister store, Kickin', 2142 W. Roscoe, for mom-to-be and baby presents. Most Roscoe merchants will be open late with special events and sales.

SUNDAY, DECEMBER 6 (1-5 p.m.): Winterfest continues with more live music, snacks and 15 percent off everything. Bring the family and then head down the block for Santa, sleigh rides and other children's activities.

THURSDAY, DECEMBER 10 (6-9:30 p.m.): Try on winter styles and make your wish list for your hubby or mom at the All I Want For Christmas event. Make your list over French martinis and appetizers, leave it at the shop, and anyone who buys from the list from December 9 through 25 will get 15 percent off. Buying for yourself this year? Anything bought that night is 15 percent off. Store will also be giving away a pair of earrings from local designer Jodi Rae.
