Chicago's answer to New York Fashion Week is back, but it's a little more compact this year.

While last year's Fashion Focus Chicago event was sprawled out over a week, this year everything's happening in one action-packed weekend.

Here's a quick rundown of the four major fashion shows. (But there are plenty of other events, including shopping parties and free seminars. Go to Chicagofashionresource.com).

Bring in your gently worn men's, women's and children's winter coats to Evanston boutiques Asinamali, 1722 Sherman, and Coucou, 1716 Sherman (shown above), and in return for your generosity you'll receive a $5 coupon for each store (with a limit of three coupons per person).

You have from now until October 31. Coats will be donated to the Evanston YWCA and Connections for the Homeless.

Coupons can be used at either store and are good until Dec. 31.

Store hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday; 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday; noon to 5 p.m. Sunday.

Kids can be both warm and fashionable at Chicago Bulls games this year. I'm even thinking of trying on one of these T-shirts myself.

NBA and Junk Food Clothing, a vintage retro apparel company, teamed up to offer the NBA's growing base of young fans a cool new line of shirts featuring the Hardwood Classic logos of 11 NBA teams. The 2-in-1 Basketball Graphic T-shirts (which feature an added knit sleeve to give a layered look) are $22.50 and available only at GapKids stores and at Gap.com.

Other teams included are the Boston Celtics, Cleveland Cavaliers, Dallas Mavericks, Denver Nuggets, Detroit Pistons, Houston Rockets, Los Angeles Lakers, New York Knicks, Philadelphia 76ers, and San Antonio Spurs.

The T-shirts are 50 percent cotton and 50 percent poly jersey blend. Sizes range from small to XX-large.

Go Bulls!
