Home decor store Material Possessions, 704 N. Wabash in Chicago, is inviting brides and their friends who still love them anyway to a Brides & Baubles shopping event from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 6. Sip Grey Goose cocktails and nibble on treats from Gibson's while you preview the store's new online bridal registry and celebrate the launch of Erin Gallagher Custom Jewelry (at left). Purchases over $100 will be 20 percent off all evening.

Also, bring along any bridesmaid dresses at the back of your closet. The store will be accepting any gently used bridesmaid or formal dresses and accessories to benefit The Glass Slipper Project, which provides free prom outfits to low-income Chicago high school students.

EVENT AT THE WINNETKA LOCATION:
Can't make the event Wednesday? You can still check out the designs of Erin Gallagher at a trunk show between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. Saturday at Material Possessions, 945 Green Bay Road in Winnetka. Erin will be on hand to talk about her collection. Just as the city event, feel free to bring gently-used bridesmaid or formal dresses for the Glass Slipper Project.
