If you haven't seen the family's home movies of Dren -- now in theaters under the title "Splice" -- you might not want to leaf through the album just yet...
She was cute from the moment she poked her little head out...
This is a picture of her mother, back when she was a newborn. Can you see the family resemblance?
Here's Dren's bio-Mommy and obstetrician on the day she was born! The doctor was so excited to see her he forgot to say if she was a boy or a girl. He just kept shouting, "It's alive! It's alive! It's alive!"
Her very first photo: We weren't quite sure which end was which at first!
She always loved to hang from the ceiling, even before she could walk.
Her cousin Bunny, who lived in London, used to like to sleep on a dish when she was little. Adorable!
"Come to Mommy!" Baby Dren's first steps. So lucky we had the camera ready!
She loved that little plushy bear! She named it Ginger.
Her graduation picture. They grow up so fast!
Sinead is a distant relative from Ireland. We're not quite sure what the relationship is.
Her favorite outfit: She has always loved those feathers!
We think she should do some more modeling. With a figure like that...!
Have you ever seen a girl who was just so BUILT to wear spike heels?!?!
Oh, my. Remember her androgynous phase? She kept saying she was a "Smashing Pumpkin."
One thing's for sure: That girl could eat anything she wanted and never gain an ounce!

Superb! A jeu d'esprit with wit and style. Wish you could have added sound effects, i.e., warbling, trilling, clicking...a song?
Ha! Amazing! I laughed out loud for Sinead and Billy Corgan! Will pass around FB! Brilliant!!
I would add one more influence. Delphine Chanéac's performance reminded me of the mime-like performance of Kathryn Hays in the original STAR TREK's "The Empath," a rare graceful note which elicits sympathy from the audience despite some harrowing (at least for STAR TREK) events.
Hilarious! I sat behind Billy Corgan this weekend at a screening of a documentary on Rush (after literally bumping into him in the restroom), and I can attest to his Dren-like presence!
Jim, did you notice in the credits that one of the people contributing to the creation of Dren's voice was none other than Mary Margaret O'Hara, sister of our beloved Catherine and a odd little duckling her own self? Her very strange, beautiful singing voice was the perfect place to jump off into Dren's otherworldly chirping and cooing.
