The Birds is coming

Melanie Daniels (Tippi Hedren) is momentarily distracted by a swooping avian creature as she heads for shore on Bodega Bay. Edith Olive Eggplant Dog (with tennis ball in mouth) is momentarily distracted by a swooping avian creature as she heads for shore on Lake Washington.

UPDATE BELOW:

Until I looked at other photos I had downloaded Saturday afternoon, I hadn't noticed that The Bird made an initial reconnaissance flyover just a few seconds earlier, then swooped down in the other direction.

I like this.

JE: Edith wanted so badly to chase the loud, mean raven -- er, crow -- but she had a tennis ball in her mouth at the moment (and she wasn't about to let go of that) and was swimming in water way over her head...

Was Rod Taylor waiting with you? Also, keep Edith away from schoolhouses and monkeybars.

This is great, Jim; thanks. Have fun in Boulder.

Would this be your new pup? I think you need to give us a more clear shot, if that's the case...

Better this than Vertigo, I guess.

Have fun!

Jim,

Sorry to write you about a subject that has nothing to do with this article, but I need to ask a question about your CINE-PAD article on Oliver Stone's Natural Born Killers.

I'm actually composing a research paper for my ENGLISH 1010 class in high school and I'd like to cite your expertise in that article. The paper will expound upon the verisimilitudes, and, ultimately, the correlations between media violence and school shootings.

A cliche article I know but it's one that I'm passionate to write nonetheless.

Now, to get to the point:

I know how you feel about the lack of integrity in a film like NBK but I was wondering if a like-minded film like Ruggero Deodato's "Cannibal Holocaust" could have a chance for defense even though it tries to be a condemnation of sensationalism in the media and at the same time becomes just what it wants to criticize.

I hope that you don't mind answering this question even though its highly irrelevant to your article. You can email it to me if you don't want this post to show on this blog. Regardless, it would be highly appreciated if I could get your commentary.

ALSO: I want to know if if it's okay that I cite your article. As well, I plan on citing the source like so:

Emerson, Jim. "Natural Born Killers." accessed: [hanging indent] April 02, 2009, http://cinepad.com/reviews/nbkreview.htm

AS WELL, I don't plan on citing your response!

Please, do reply; it would be greatly appreciated.
