"I don't think you go to a play to forget, or to a movie to be distracted. I think life generally is a distraction and that going to a movie is a way to get back, not go away." -- Tom Noonan
"Cinema is a matter of what's in the frame and what's out." -- Martin Scorsese
“An idea does not exist apart from the words that express it. Style is not an envelope enclosing a message; the envelope is the message.” -- Dwight Macdonald

If only the CWA had been this week! ;)
JE: There's always something in the air in Boulder...
Why didn't you post this yesterday? Hmm? Too busy smoking doobie in a van down by the river?
420 is... the legal code for a marijuana-related offense, right? Lemme look it up. Well, looks like it was started by guys called The Waldos and has nothing to do with any police code.
Let people experience altered states. The only reason to stop them is because you like to bully people around. Nobody likes a bully.
My school had something similar, but it was geared towards alcohol. So I can attest first-hand that this looks so much better. Our campus-wide 'drunk day' (AKA "blowout") inevitably ended in fights, property damage, you name it. Yet... it was supported by the school, and anyone caught with weed at that campus was practically shipped off to Guantanamo Bay. What a world.
Clearly UCO is doing something right :)
I go to CU Boulder (graduating this May) and its great that this event is getting attention. I'm not endorsing Marijuana use because I believe its something that needs to be handled in the realm of personal responsibility (pertaining to my libertarian philosophy) like alcohol and tobacco but when you get 10,000 college students smoking together in unison on a field you know that the cat is out of the bag. Kind of ironic that alcohol is legal when its affects are more dangerous than smoking grass.
