(Kar-) Wai, Oh Why? was the previous entry in this blog.
How "Star Wars" changed the world (as we knew it) is the next entry in this blog.

Why has Close Encouters of the Third Kind been included in this poll? It is funny because somehow Close Encounters has received more votes than Return of the Jedi.
highritz: Had to put "Star Wars" into some kind of perspective. In 1977 it seemed the world was divided into four camps: those who adored/preferred "Star Wars"; those who adored/preferred "CE3K"; those who liked both; and those who liked neither. That's why I threw in "CE3K" as another option...
I picked Jedi, for that purest of reasons: It was the first one I saw as a kid, so for me Star Wars is Jabba's Palace, the Forest Moon of Endor, and that final, amazing lightsaber battle between Luke and Darth.
Empire Strikes Back. For me, it's the most enjoyable.
Never cared for the prequels. The only one I kinda liked was Ep. 3.
Ha ha! Phantom Menace and Clones seem to share a mouseover pixel. I couldn't even see Phantom menace. I voted CE3K, but my real answer is Empire.
I'm not suprised that The Empire Strikes Back has gotten the most votes and I'm glad that its is getting the cult following that I think it has earned because critics panned when first released (but then again the star wars movies have never done well in terms of critical reception).also,I can understand why emerson had it in his 102 must see before... movies list because out of all the star wars movies this has arguably the best artistic merits.I didn't think phantom menace was a bad movie as many thought it was because it had enough colorful characters(I thought darth maul was cool) and set-pieces(like the underwater gungan city) to sustain an entire film, making the film fun to watch.Though the jar jar binks character did give the film a terrible level of kitch just like the ewoks did in jedi.
