The lyrics to the theme for this year's Golden Globes telecast began (and I'm not making this up):
One night only, one night only
That's all I have to spare
One night only
Let's not pretend to care...
Um... OK.

You know there's something wrong with this year's crop of Hollywood flicks when the most exciting thing on the screen is the Governor of California in a pair of crutches.
Yeah, it was a little disappointing as a look at the year in review. The movies that really affected me were either nowhere are almost nowhere to be seen.
"Pan's Labyrinth"
"Children of Men"
"Lady Vengeance" (over looked by everyone).
I'm just really thankful that Marty had the guts and tenacity to thank Andrew Lau for "Infernal Affairs" and to say how amazing Hong Kong cinema is right now. Good for him. It shows, that even in the face of thinking he deserves an Oscar, he has humility. What a great man.
Also, is there a reason for American Produced films being included in foreign language categories??? "Babel" had more a right to be there than "Apocalypto" or "Letters" did. Strange rules.
Th' hell?
Must've been going for that self-mocking tone, a la Colbert.
Phillip,
That's the third time I've heard something overwhelmingly positive about Lady Vengeance. I've seen Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance, and it quite frankly blew me away. Have you seen Sympathy? Are they on par? I know they're part of a trilogy of sorts, along with Oldboy...
This glorious screen cap says everything necessary about the Golden Globes for me...

In case you didn't know, the song is from Dreamgirls.
JE: Not only an inappropriate song, but a bad one. (And it sounded more like Donna Summer-esque disco than Motown.) I was wondering why they didn't use "And I Am Telling You I'm Not Going... To The Golden Globes."
