Feds ask to strike Rezko's October sentencing

Federal prosecutors just asked a judge to strike Tony Rezko's Oct. 28, sentencing -- acknowledging for the first time they are undergoing discussions with the political fund-raiser.
That could be good news for Democratic Presidential nominee Barack Obama, since the previous sentencing was likely to bring unfavorable publicity about his former fund-raiser just days before the election.
In a motion filed hours ago, Assistant U.S. Attorney Reid Schar asked a federal judge to set a status hearing in the case in December, saying it was something the government and Rezko agreed on.
"The parties agree that the Oct. 28, 2008 sentencing date, as well as dates related to sentencing filings should be stricken while the parties engage in discussions that could affect their sentencing postures," Schar wrote.
The Sun-Times first reported Rezko's possible cooperation in August. Last week, sources close to the investigation told us the feds were in the process of vetting information from Rezko.

I've heard the Hurtgen trial set to start nov. 5th has been put off. Any ideas why?

"That could be good news for Democratic Presidential nominee Barack Obama, since the previous sentencing was likely to bring unfavorable publicity about his former fund-raiser just days before the election." Huh??? He's talking, Natasha. He's guilty, now he's talking in an attempt to reduce his sentence. That could be very bad news for Obama. Hopefully the lid will come off Obama's real agenda before the naive and racially-locked-in bring this phoney to office.

I really want to know more about Rezko. I've read both of Obama's books, and I still feel as if I don't have a sense of who Obama really is.

Could it be that they do not want to get into deciding the presidential race? Do we as both tax payers and voters have the right to know one way or another if Obama is in the clear? Shouldn’t Obama demand a statement at least from the US Attorney’s office stating that after the investigation so far he has not been found to have done anything wrong with Rezko? And should the US Attorney’s office explain why Rezko sold property to Obama for a large loss? Having these clouds over Obama’s head are not fair to him or the voting public.

I was hoping Tony Rezko would be Ratting out Obama and Blago before the elections. Rezko has lots of info and it will take a while to go over everything. Rezko saw that Abramoff got 4 yaers after Ratting out everyone he knew. Rezko will have to tell everything he knows, if he lies to them he will get screwed big-time.
