This obviously isn't going on in the Tony Rezko trial, but the state Senate just killed a measure that would allow for voters to recall public officials -- namely, the governor.
The legislation was proposed in response to the federal investigation into activities in Blagojevich's administration -- including the indictment of his top adviser and fund-raiser Tony Rezko.
