New schools in the mix for Blackshear, Shaw and Thompson

| 6 Comments | No TrackBacks

According to Mac Irvin Fire coach Mike Irvin, some new high-major programs are in the mix for three Class of 2011 stars.

Louisville and Florida are now in on Morgan Park's Wayne Blackshear and De La Salle's Michael Shaw. Kentucky, which is already involved with Blackshear and Shaw, is now also recruiting Young's Sam Thompson.

BLACKSHEAR CAN PLAY AT KENTUCKY, THE JURY IS STILL OUT
ON THE OTHER TWO!
THE QUESTION IS WHEN CAN BLACKSHEAR PLAY HIGH SCHOOL BALL
AGAIN, THAT TRANSFER HE MADE MAY COST HIM BIG TIME, CAN
YOU SAY PREP SCHOOL, OAK HILL OR THE SCHOOL IN NEVADA!
I HOPE THINGS WORK OUT FOR HIM, BUT HE SHOULD HAVE STAYED
WHERE HE WAS, COACH OLIVER IS A GREAT COACH!

Any of these guys would be foolish to go to Illinois, that is for sure. Weber's slowdown ball and propensity to play upperclassmen over freshmen/sophomores would not allow these types of athletic players to showcase their abilities. UK and Calipari's offense would be a great fit, although Louisville and Florida play fun styles as well.

I SAY HURRY AND TAKE YOUR ACT TEST, WITH THIS SCANDAL
COMING OUT ABOUT TEST SCORES AND OTHERS TAKING THE TEST FOR PLAYERS, I SAY STUDY AND GET THE TEST OUT OF THE WAY!
BLACKSHEAR IS PROBABLY A ONE AND DONE PLAYER ANYWAY!

IHN, the last time Weber had top-flight talent, Illinois averaged 77 points a game, more than Louisville or Memphis averaged last year. And what are you basing your opinion on that Weber won't play freshmen? He's had two that were good enough to play serious minutes- Jamar Smith and Demetri McCamey- and lo and behold, they both played serious minutes.

Give it up.

Please remember about Illini Hoops Nut. He is still angry about getting chewed out by the Illinois coaching staff and then getting fired from his internet Illinois beat writing job. He spends a lot of time trying to discredit the Illinois staff, down to outright lying about facts. Anything he posts should be taken from that perspective.

CALAPARI ISN'T GOING TO CONQUER THE WORLD OVERNIGHT, AND
SOME OF THE GUYS HE IS RECRUITING, THEY AREN'T GOING TO
BE THERE FOR LONG, THEY ARE ONE AND DONES!
