From Monday's IHSA Board of Directors meeting
# The Board sustained the Executive Director's ruling in regard to the forfeiture of varsity girls basketball contests by Bartlett High School due to the use of an ineligible player. The student was originally ruled ineligible for non-compliance with IHSA By-law 6.021.
# The Board modified the Executive Director's ruling on a student from Bartlett. The student was originally ruled ineligible for the remainder of the 2008-09 and entire 2009-10 school years for non-compliance with IHSA By-laws 3.031.1 and 6.021. The Executive Director will review the student's eligibility status for the 2009-10 school year after receiving documentation regarding residency and assignment of guardianship.
Word is that the ineligible player was freshman Ashley Santos
"I really love this campus, the coaches and academic program," Walker said. "I look forward to continuing the Midland tradition of excellence competing for a National Championship, graduating, and moving on to a high major Division 1 program in two years."
Walker, a 6-7 forward, helped lead Seton to the Class 2A state title last month.

There is a parents meeting set for Sunday to discuss whether there is any chance to save the school that is now scheduled to close at the end of June.
When rumors about closing the school surfaced two months ago, the students and parents were told there was nothing to worry about
According to a press release sent from the Brothers of the Christian Schools, Driscoll will close at the end of the present school year.
"The decision was made in conjunction with the Catholic Diocese of Joliet after a full review of enrollment and financial projections for the 2009-2010 school year."
