Zion-Benton, which finished second in Class 4A in March, signed a contract to play at the Jacobs Holiday Classic in 2009.

Z-B, which played at Proviso West last month, will replace Marian Central Catholic in the Jacobs' field.

This is in reference to your article posted on January 8th about the 600 mile rule.
You stated "What’s wrong with a rule that limits travel to one trip per team that is more than the old standard of 600 miles round trip? Does anyone think that schools’ extensive itineraries are not used for recruiting kids?

I couldn't agree with you anymore than I already do. Unfortunately, The IHSA committee members that make the decision, like ethically corrupt Young principle Joyce Kenner, would never allow such a rule. It may be in the best interest of the kids and high school basketball, but it is not in the best interest of the 'elite' schools such as Young.

However, as soon as the catholic schools start gaining elite status, I guarantee Dr. Kenner will decide this is a good rule!
