All due respect to Mr. Parker and his family, (this has nothing to do with them), but this is an 8th grader declaring his high school choice... was there a press conference? I hope I did not miss it! lol..

Please stop this rediculous abuse of children and at least let these kids reach puberty before you start publicizing things such as this and treating them like adults (he's 13/14!)

CONGRATS TO SONNY PARKER, I KNOW THIS MAN, HE IS A CLASS
ACT, HE HAS DONE SO MUCH FOR YOUNGSTERS OVER THE YEARS,
IF HIS SON PLAYS ANYTHING LIKE HIS FATHER, WELL THE SKY
IS THE LIMIT!
CONGRATS TO THE SONNY PARKER FAMILY!

Way to go Sun-Times, you write a bunch of articles which critique the over-exposure of young players these days and then print this dribble about where an 8th grader will be going to high school. Nice double-standard.

I am curious as to why his parents are sending there son to Simeon whent the father is a westside legend and a HAll of Famer at Farragut H.S.

All this High School recruiting is shady.

This is no surprise. He has been practicing with Simeon for the last 3 years. Sonny Parker said that his son will know the system and be able to play well as a freshman.

yes this is a very good decision as long as he didn't let him go to farragut.....grades...look at the troynell adams situation....program is terrible....go wolverines and jabari...lol

i just saw some film on this young man, he has guard skills for a big man, he will play on varsity from day 1!

he alright i mean nothing special

The reason why I made the announcement about my son attending Simeon I wanted to make the decision early about him going to a high school in the fall. Jabari has taking test at Brooks options for knowledge, shadow days and open house at several of the top academic schools in chicago. My two daughters are students at Simeom. I live 10 minuts from the school.Me and my wife wanted our son to go to a CPS school. So Know he can focus on school and graduating from From Robert A.Black

nick johnson is going to the mt. carmel school and is a great all around player so hopefully that simeon v.s mt carmel will b a showdown he's 6'2 with a lot of skill and potential he led his nobody middle school team to state and is playing AAU SO BE ON THE LOOK OUT
