Pairings for the 78th Annual Pontiac Holiday Tournament which runs Dec. 29-31:

8 am: Joliet vs. Curie
9:30 am: Simeon vs. West Aurora
1 pm: Lockport vs. Bloomington
2:30 pm: Warren vs. Niles West
4 pm: Plainfield North vs. United Twp.
6:30 pm: Waukegan vs. Danville
8 pm: Schaumburg vs. Pontiac
9:30 pm: Manual vs. Oak Park

If you've never visited the Pontiac Tournament, I would highly recommend it. The atmosphere and style of basketball is quite a bit different from Proviso West or the Big Dipper. Pontiac is about an hour and forty minutes from Chicago, straight down I-55. And for those who can't attend in person the semi finals will be broadcast live on Comcast SportsNet Chicago at 1pm on Dec. 31.

SOMEBODY MUST BE ANGRY WITH SIMEON, FOR THEM TO RECEIVE
A 9:30 A.M. GAME!
DON'T TAKE IT, COME TO THE BIG DIPPER TOURNEY NEXT YEAR
THE ONLY PONTIAC REALLY HAS IS A PRISON ANYWAY, AND
THE GOV JUST CLOSED THAT THING!

SIMEON MIGHT BE PLAYING IN THE CONSOLATION CHAMPIONSHIP
GAME IF THEY DON'T START FINISHING GAMES!
THEY HAVE UP TO THIS TIME ONLY WON 1 GAME!
THEY PLAY THE CLIPPERS NEXT WEDNESDAY, JUST JOKING!

As the young and inexperienced Simeon Wolverine team continues to improve and learns how to play together in Coach Robert Smith's system, this team will hit its stride and win another Pontiac Tournament.

I agree Simeon will win the Pontiac Tournament. They have had a tough stretch of games and will be a force by the end of the season.

Simeon will be fine and will more than likely be in the championship game at Pontiac. Coach Rob does this every year. He plays a very tough schedule in the beginning of the season and it always pays off when the state playoffs come around. The officiating is so different than in the public league come playoff time. That has shown the last three years with an appearance in the state championship game 3 years and running. If any of the teams ranked in the top 10 played the same teams that Simeon has, I promise you that their records would be the same or worst................

Nothing really matters cus WAUKEGAN is going to win anyway

GO BULLDOGS!

yea im ridin wit my guy mookie, im goin wit tha number 1 team in tha state for this tourney... They defense is incredible

Don't sleep on Warren. They have battled Simeon the last four years. Paul is a stud and he is getting help from others. Warren and Simeon will battle for the tourney crown. Go Devils!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You can catch the Simeon vs. West Aurora on 1280-AM and wbig1280.com

the morning games at pontiac, the first day of the tournament, are at 9am and 10:30am, not 8am and 9:30am. The earlier times are on the second and third day of the tournament.

IT DOESN'T MATTER WHAT TIME THE GAMES START, FOR SIMEON
IT IS ABOUT FINISHING THE GAMES, THEY ARE COMING UP
SHORT, AND PONTIAC WILL BE A TRUE TEST TO SEE IF THEY
HAVE LEARNED ANYTHING FROM PLAYING AGAINST ELITE
COMPETITION EARLY IN THE SEASON!
THORNTON HAS TO BE THE TOP DOG COMING INTO THE BIG
DIPPER TOURNEY, THEY HAVE DEFEATED SIMEON, AND H-F,
COACH TROY JACKSON HAS HIS BOYS READY TO GO, BLOOM
TOWNSHIP WITH COACH JASPER WILLLIAMS AT THE HELM, HAS
HIS TEAM LOOKING VERY SHARP AS WELL, DON'T COUNT OUT
SETON, RICH EAST, AND THE BIG QUESTION IS WHAT DOES
LOREN JACKSON HAVE AT FENGER, HE ONLY LOST TO SETON
BY 3 LAST WEEK!
REMEMBER LINCOLN PARK IS THE ONLY CHICAGO PUBLIC SCHOOL
TO TAKE HOME A BIG DIPPER CHAMPIONSHIP!
OH IT'S CHRISTMAS TOURNAMENT TIME, THE ROAD TO PEORIA
IS REALLY ABOUT TO BEGIN!
GOOD LUCK TO ALL PARTICIPANTS, AND REMEMBER LET THE
COACHES- COACH, LET THE PLAYERS - PLAY AND LET THE
REFS DO THEIR JOB, SPORT A WINNING ATTITUDE AT ALL THE
GAMES!

WAUKEGAN WATCH OUT FOR PLAINFIELD NORTH!!!
