According to Southern Illinois assistant coach Lance Irvin, former Iowa guard and St. Joseph grad Tony Freeman has transferred to SIU. Freeman, a junior, will have to sit out next season, but will be eligible to play the 2009-2010 season.

maybe as Phil Smith Jr. mention why did tony jr. leave IOWA, the answer is in the plans of the new coach(IOWA) that is He should be glad that jr. came back after his foot was broken or never would have won a game in the BIG Ten. I wonder if IOWA will get any other players from the Chicagoland area???? Or it should be mention that Tony is on the Honor roll at IOWA.
