Dion Dixon commits to Cincinnati »
« Twice is too many times

The Public League semifinals will take place Saturday at Attack Athletics. The facility is located at 2641 W. Harrison and seats only 1,000 people, so plan to show up early. Marshall faces Englewood at 2 p.m. and Farragut plays Curie at 4 p.m.

The championship game is scheduled for 4 p.m. on Sunday at UIC.

Is there any chance the two games will still be televised on MeTV?

1000 seats?? It's hard to imagine that there are no other options in the city of Chicago??

This is crazy i though the city playoff were to prepare you for the state not get in the way. This was bad planing by Chicago Public School The city championship should have been sunday 2/17/08 whoever runs Boys basketball should be fired.

How could the CPS screw up the dates for semis?
Now the semi-final games won't be televised --- what a shame.

The Public League City Championship Game stands alone with its proud tradition, and the longest running championship in the state. A number of Public League teams had non-conference out of town commitments that prevented a Feb. 17th title game. Additionally, the CPS 2a teams in the state tournment dictated changes to remain within the state rule that says no Monday through Friday games when a teanm is involved in the state tournney. You have no idea of the extraneous variables that are involved in the Public League. Make sure you know the facts before you pass judgement. Calvin Davis is the Best in the Business, and Cyrus McGinnis is an outstanding Basketball Coordinator. It's not that easy!

FYI:

Additional bleachers are being brough in to incease the CPS Semifianals capacity to 2,000 at Attack Athletics on Saturday

DON'T FAULT THE CPS FOR THIS WEEKEND, AND PLEASE DON'T
