Steve Filer commits to Notre Dame
What does it say when Notre Dame lands the three top football prospects in the Chicago area? »

The Mount Carmel star is the latest addition to the Irish recruiting class, already ranked No. 1 in the nation...

Filer, a 6-4, 225-pound linebacker, chose Notre Dame over Ohio State. He had 37 scholarship offers.

"In the beginning, Notre Dame wasn't at the top of my list. I liked Ohio State and Michigan," Filer said. "But I got a good feeling for the players and coaches. In the end, I felt Notre Dame was the best move for me and my family. It is close to home and it will give me a good education."

Mistake.

A better than average education, primetime games every week, A progam that will be playing for a championship within two years.
Sounds like a huge mistake to me!

He made the right decision, and M. Wilson made the wrong one last year. Illinois will never be a force in the big 11.

It is difficult to judge this decision however ND has done the "right thing" by enlisting the services of Corwin Brown. Steve Fifers positive response thus acceptance of Notre Dame over thee Ohio State is in part due to the Florida/OSU game, ND'S traditions & their intelligence in this new hire.
