According to Simeon coach Robert Smith, Simpson, on of the top players in the rising senior class will play with the Wolverines tonight in the Illinois Team Camp at Moody Bible. Simeon faces Hales at 6 p.m.

"Stan enrolled at Simeon last week," Smith said.

Simpson is the second post player to transfer to Simeon this summer, following Thornwood rising junior Steve Walker.

Michael, do you have any idea where Stan Simpson might head for college? I see my Hoosiers are on him pretty hard and I for one would love to see him become part of the IU family. If you have any insight I would appreciate it greatly, SS has a HIGH cieling IMO and would really thrive in IUs system.............

Thanks again

O'Brien responds: I agree about Simpson. He has some major upside. I don't know where he's leaning at the moment. It's a fluid situation right now, since a lot of high-majors are interested but in general, he really isn't receiving the kind of attention he should. I would bet the transfer to Simeon has a lot to do with increasing his profile. So I wouldn't be surprised if he waited until well into the high school season (after playing some high-profile games with the Wolverines) to really get serious about his recruiting. Unless an offer he can't refuse comes along before that. On an unrelated note, you should look forward to watching Jamarcus Ellis play for the Hoosiers this season. I think he could wind up being one of the best players in the conference. He's always been a favorite of mine.
