Kevin Dillard on SIU: "They made me feel like family"

| 5 Comments | No TrackBacks

H-F star Kevin Dillard talks about why he chose Southern Illinois...

Dillard's chose the Salukis over Dayton and Minnesota.

"Dayton had offered me, but I didn't feel like waiting around for Minnesota," Dillard said. "Lowery's new contract played a part in my decision too. It looks like he could stay around to be my coach all four years, even though he's really on the rise."

SIU was the first school to begin recruiting Dillard.

"That meant a lot to me," Dillard said. "They were there from the beginning. I watched them play a lot this year, it felt like every time I turned the television on they were there."

Kev,

Congrats lil man. You came a long way. Don't stop here, continue to put in that work. It wasn't too long ago when you were shooting
mini basketballs into my parents recycle bin. So on behalf of the Durham family, congrats again & I look forward to coming down to see you play

Good luck.I'm glad you made the choice about your school and nobody else.It was great watching you develop as a student and player.Keep your head and get a people every time you step on the floor....COACH FRIDGE..

Must not watch much TV son.........

I know I'm a little late and I'm sure you don't even remember me. I just happened to run across your name on Rivals. However, I just wanted to congratulate you and your family. Always keep in mind that basketball is just an avenue to your degree. Use basketball, don't let it use you. God has blessed you with the basketball talent that will offer you the opportunity for a free education. It's up to you to take advantage of it. Your PPG, APG, assist-to-turnover,. etc,. are important. However, your GPA is the most crucial number that you have to maintain. So, may the Lord continue to keep you and guide your steps. Tell KEVIN DILLARD I said what's up!!
