Goodbye to Lincoln Park, Loyola and Glenbard East...

I admit it, I didn't see two of those coming. I thought New Trier had a slight chance to upset Loyola, but I didn't figure they would dominate them so thoroughly. Looks like the Trevians could be a top five team next season, they have the core of their team coming back.

Crane over Lincoln Park was a shocker. The Cougars are pretty tough in a tournament setting. It's a very disappointing end to the careers of Michael Thompson, Jonathan Montgomery and JJ Henley.

Glenbard West over Glenbard East wasn't a huge shock. It had already happened once this season.

Downstate, state-ranked Alton lost to Quincy.

I wonder why the city schools have to beat up each other to get downstate. How do you explain Proviso East, St. Joes, Oak Park, Farragut and Proviso West all playing in the same regional/sectional. The same goes for the southside schools. But the lesser teams in their conferences go to other sectionals to play.
