A closer look at the rankings...

Kind of a rough week in the rankings. Thornton, H-F, Oak Park and Hales were all kicked out. They are all talented teams and will probably return quickly, but Conant, Fenwick, Jacobs and Morgan Park all deserve recognition for fabulous Thanksgiving weeks.

RISING

Loyola, from 8 to 5: Ramblers have dominated so far at Mundelein.

Hillcrest, from 16 to 6: Had the best week of any team in the state,
beating H-F and Bloom.

Proviso East, from 15 to 10: Creamed East Aurora and nearly beat St.
Joseph.

T.F. North, from 18 to 12: Beat Hyde Park, Westinghouse and Prospective.

Batavia, from 19 to 15: Beat Addison Trail, Aurora Christian and St.
Francis.

Lockport, from 20 to 16: Beat Romeoville, Joliet Catholic and
Plainfield Central.

Warren, from 23 to to 17: Beat Fremd, Bartlett and Waukegan.

Curie, from 22 to 18: Beat Jacksonville, Austin and lost by two
points to Peoria Richwoods in overtime.

Leo, from 25 to 29: Beat H-F, Sandburg and Bowen. Lost to Bloom.

Being the first week, a number of teams got bumped up that didn’t
play, because other teams lost: Crane, Von Steuben, Young and Farragut.

FALLING

Bloom, from 5 to 9: Lost to Hillcrest, beat Leo and Sandburg and Bowen.

Lincoln Park, from 10 to 13: Lost to Duncanville, Texas and Phoenix
St. Mary’s, beat Champaign Central.

West Aurora, from 6 to 23: Beat United Township and Rock Island, lost
to Rock Island Alleman.

KICKED OUT

Thornton: Lost to Conant

Homewood-Flossmoor: Lost to Hillcrest and Leo

Oak Park: Lost to Evanston

Hales: Lost to St. Rita.

NEW ADDITIONS:

Conant: Beat Thornton

Fenwick: Beat St. Patrick

Jacobs: Beat Quincy, Collinsville and Centralia

Morgan Park: Won St. Rita Tournament

according to the box score oak park beat evanston, was that an inaccurate score?

Some of the top teams listed have not played any real comp. for example

Batavia, from 19 to 15: Beat Addison Trail, Aurora Christian and St.
Francis.

Loyola, from 8 to 5: Ramblers have dominated so far at Mundelein.

Lockport, from 20 to 16: Beat Romeoville, Joliet Catholic and
Plainfield Central.

Take a look at Nequa Valley who dominated Bolingbrook winning by 17 and creamed East Aurora just like Proviso East

Best kept secret in South Suburbs: TF North

Michael, you always emphasize what a leaper Demond Watt is. But you should see his teammate, Marcus Deloney, sky through the air. That team has lots of talent. If they could somehow coordinate that talent into a cohesive unit, they could make it all the way to Peoria...Michael, I'd like your take on them?

O'Brien responds: I agree, they are a very talented team. I'm excited about seeing them play this weekend against Washington. Last year they proved they could play with anyone in the state, they just seemed to have trouble finishing teams off.
