The first indications of where Simeon stands...

Street & Smith's College Basketball preview magazine arrived last week. In their national high school rankings, Simeon is No. 4, behind top-ranked Oak Hill, DeMatha (MD) and Artesia (CA).

St. Joseph checks in at No. 14 and last season's Class AA runner-up Peoria Richwoods is No. 23.

Simeon should have a shot at the "mythical national title" this season. They play No. 1 Oak Hill and No. 9 Mount Vernon (NY) this season.

Simeon senior Derrick Rose is a First Team All-American in the magazine, as is Illinois recruit Eric Gordon. The All-Chicago team includes Rose, St. Joseph's Evan Turner, St. Joseph's Demetri McCamey, Boys To Men's Craig Brackins and Boys To Men's Mac Koshwal.
