Donatucci, Spurlock headed to Hall

Recently retired Fremd coach Mike Donatucci and former Morgan Park coach Lexie Spurlock are among 18 honorees in the Class of 2012 for the Illinois High School Football Coaches Association Hall of Fame.

Donatucci, a 33-year coaching vet who was 137-62 at Hoffman Estates and Fremd, and Spurlock (167-70, 39 seasons) were among four selected for induction in the retired coaches category. The others are Downstate coaches Tom Buck and Ron Metz.

Active coaches to be inducted are Notre Dame's Mike Hennessey, Harvard's Tim Haak, Rochelle's Kevin Crandall, Danville's B.J. Luke and Robinson's Tim Nolen.

Also to be inducted are Rich Infusino and Bill Monken in the career coach category; Mike Deck, Tom Innis and Nelson Williams in the deceased coach category; Dick Bidlack and Joe Murnick (Lemong, Bolingbrook) as assistant coaches; and Rick Odgers and George Turnbull as Ray Eliot Award winners.

The coaches will be inducted on March 31 in Champaign.
