Ald. Moreno unimpressed by ward's high hipster-haven ranking

Ald. Proco Joe Moreno's efforts to repel the "hipster alderman" label took a hit Thursday when Wicker Park came in at No. 4 on a list of the nation's "hippest hipster neighborhoods."

According to Forbes.com, the neighborhood in Moreno's 1st Ward is "the Midwest Mecca of hipsterdom."

In true hipster fashion, @Alderman_Moreno quickly tweeted a link to the story with a very hipsterish reaction to it: "Whaetv, man."

Despite his affinity for social media, live music, bicycle commuting and environmental activism -- and regardless of his disdain for Chick-Fil-A and Wal-Mart -- Moreno has tried to shrug off the notion that he is the City Council voice of Chicago's burgeoning hipster population.

Even as his stands have seemed to appeal to the ward's hipsters and other newer residents, Moreno also has forged ties to some of the deeper-rooted members of the local political class.

This is the fascist narcissist who tries to dictate free-enterprise according to a company's religious beliefs while ignoring that Chicago leads the nation in violent crime and corruption.
Yep, he's as "hip" as the other dems I know.
