Is there a doctor in the blogosphere?

The cough I've had for almost two weeks now has an interesting new feature. (Evolution at work?)

For most of the day, it seems like it's almost gone. Then, when I lay down to go to sleep, it suddenly gets much, much worse.

Is that a sign of any sort of really bad disease?

You could have bronchitis. That doesn't go away on its own. Go see a doctor!

And in response to yesterday's post I'm working all week too!

It sounds like a symptom of that ‘‘Rage virus’’ the monkeys were infected with in the movie, ‘‘28 Days Later’’. Is it possible that you and that free lance stock market expert, Adam Monk, have been using the same toilet facilities?

I knew that little b*****d was nothing but trouble.

Go to a doctor - I agree, it sounds like a type of bronchitis. I had that same problem for 2 straight winters. I felt fine all day, but when 9 or 10 pm came along, I couldn't take a full breath without hacking like an old man. The next morning, after showering and moving around, I felt 100%, only to have the cycle repeat over and over at night.

You probably need some antibiotics or it will only get worse.

you are describing symptoms of postnasal drip. This happen when secretions from the nasal sinuses empty into the nasopharynx and drip in the layrnx resulting in coughing.
