An Evening with David Sedaris
7:30 p.m. at Steppenwolf Upstairs Theatre; $35
The popular humorist returns to the Steppenwolf to read from his forthcoming book, Squirrel Seeks Chipmunk: A Modest Bestiary, due to be released in October. The performance will be followed by a Q&A session and book/CD signing.
Sanctified Grumblers
8:30 p.m. at Hideout; $5
Eric Noden, best known for his resonator pickings with harpist Joe Filisko, combines forces with the late Devil in a Woodpile's Rick Sherry to scratch their jug and ragtime itch a bit deeper. Expect more kazoo and foot-drum as opposed to the stand-up bass, PBR-swilling residencies of yore.
