An Evening with David Sedaris
7:30 p.m. at Steppenwolf Upstairs Theatre; $35
The popular humorist returns to the Steppenwolf to read from his forthcoming book, Squirrel Seeks Chipmunk: A Modest Bestiary, due to be released in October. The performance will be followed by a Q&A session and book/CD signing.

Sanctified Grumblers
8:30 p.m. at Hideout; $5
Eric Noden, best known for his resonator pickings with harpist Joe Filisko, combines forces with the late Devil in a Woodpile's Rick Sherry to scratch their jug and ragtime itch a bit deeper. Expect more kazoo and foot-drum as opposed to the stand-up bass, PBR-swilling residencies of yore.

Taste of Chicago Preview
11 a.m.-2 p.m. at Daley Plaza, 50 W. Washington; free
Get a taste of what will be available at this year's Taste of Chicago, June 25-July 4 in Grant Park. As at the official event, admission is complimentary, but even the smallest portion of food will cost ya. The preview runs through tomorrow afternoon.
