Amidst all the April Fool's jokes yesterday, there was at least one totally serious shocker: the Lakeshore Theater, which has played host to a wide range of comedy acts (and some musical artists) over the past several years, will be shutting its doors next weekend. “There’s simply no money available to fund forward looking initiatives," said co-owner Chris Ritter in a press release.
The news means that there are just four shows left at the theater, so make your plans now for:
"Chasing Robert" screening (7:30 p.m. tonight; free)
The Best Church of God (1 p.m. Sunday; free)
Justin Nozuka (7:30 p.m. Monday; $18)
Jim Jefferies (7:30 p.m. & 10:30 p.m. April 9-10; $25)
