In recognition of Ravi Shankar's birthday and the official launch date of his personal record label, East Meets West Music, the Chicago Cultural Center hosts an evening of film and music dedicated to the legendary Indian sitar master. The evening will begin with the 2002 documentary screening of "Ravi Shankar: Between Two Worlds."

This Chicago-premiere screening features a 50-minute collection of short video performances focused on cultural identity -- including issues of gender, race, class, sexuality and on- and off-line existence. Participating artists include Rochelle Feinstein, Kate Gilmore, James Murray, Jeroen Nelemans, Greg Stimac and Stacia Yeapanis.
