The legendary rapper opens up brand-new South Loop club The Shrine with a live performance on Thursday night; DJ Jesse De La Pena supports. The special event (8 p.m.-2 a.m., $20 cover) offers a first look at the latest venture from Joseph Russo (Funky Buddha Lounge, Sinibar, Thyme).

If you go, watch out for cameras. Word has it that local filmmaker Konee Rok has been documenting The Shrine's creation for the past several months, so he's sure to be on scene to capture the action.
