It's debatable whether Three Floyds' Dark Lord Russian Imperial Stout is the best beer in the world, as some devotees have claimed. What's not debatable is that it's one of the toughest beers to get your hands on. The Munster, Indiana brewery only sells the stuff one day a year (April 25), and predictably, things get pretty crazy as folks try to get their hands on as many bottles as possible.

In an effort to minimize the insanity, Three Floyd's is instituting a "golden ticket" system, according to the Chicago Reader's Food Chain blog: you'll have to pay $10 just for the privilege of getting in line (the money goes to charity).

The tickets go on sale on Tuesday, March 17 on the Dark Lord Web site (registration required).
